My first approach with anthropology of media. In the first chapter I summarize how and why anthropology met media studies, with a focus on Italian literature. In the second chapter I relate reality shows to the emergence of a popularized bourgeois identity by analyzing a very famous Italian reality show. Then the third chapter deals with the changing image of Albanian identity as it has been represented in Italian media (newspapers and television). The last chapter is a presentation of the way Southern Italy has been described in Italian TV fiction in the last 20 years.
